Local currencies success: meeting global user needs

Last month, we expanded our Visa and Mastercard payout options to include over 35 local currencies, including the Brazilian real, Mexican peso, and Malaysian ringgit. This enhancement allowed users to sell their crypto and receive payouts directly to their credit and debit cards in their local currencies, avoiding excessive exchange fees and simplifying the cash-out process.

The success of this launch has been remarkable. In regions where local currencies were available, approximately 60% of users chose to transact in their local currency. This significant uptake highlights the demand and preference for familiar currencies, underscoring the importance of our localized approach.

This positive response proves the importance of offering local currencies, and we are thrilled to serve our users worldwide with familiar currencies and payment methods. Looking ahead, we are committed to expanding our local payment options, continuing to enhance the convenience and accessibility of our services for users across the globe. Ramp + Arkham Intelligence: on-ramp for ARKM

We are thrilled to announce the integration of ARKM, the native utility token of Arkham Intelligence, into our on-ramp services. This integration allows users to purchase ARKM, expanding our comprehensive on-ramp solution and enhancing access to this blockchain intelligence ecosystem.

Arkham Intelligence leverages advanced AI to analyze blockchain data, providing insights into transaction patterns and fund flows. ARKM is crucial for platform operations, offering utility in transactions, fees, governance, and economic incentives. Users can now buy ARKM using over 40 local currencies, and any of the most common payment methods like credit/debit cards, bank transfers, Apple Pay, PIX, and more.

Our ARKM integration underscores Ramp’s commitment to broadening access to innovative cryptocurrencies and DeFi. Partners can also enable ARKM in their applications, further extending its reach and utility. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance the crypto experience for users globally.

On-ramp & off-ramp support for USDA

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Angle Protocol, bringing USDA to our on- and off-ramp services. Users can now purchase USDA across the Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Optimism networks in over 150 countries (excluding the USA). In addition, users will be able to sell USDA back to fiat using their preferred payout method.

This integration enhances the user experience by providing a seamless way to trade USDA, supporting DeFi activities across multiple networks. Our partners can now enable USDA in their applications, extending the benefits of this token to a broader audience.

What’s next 

In the coming months, we’ll keep expanding our crypto offering, with some new emerging tokens on the horizon. We're also planning to introduce exciting new payment and payout methods for our users in Latin America.
